14.105 LSB is the only non-network HF Packet 'watering hole' that I know of. - You can have regular QSOs there, or use the nodes and BBS stations there.

All of the stuff in the automated sub-bands are BBS stations forwarding with each other. They are only supposed to accept connections from other BBS stations in those nets.

A Packet watering hole on 30m would be fun, but getting hams to gather there would be like herding cats.

I am aware of several other frequencies.  Of particular note, there is 7086.50 USB.  I am collecting information about these on my wiki hat:

I have been on/listened to the hf packet on 14.105 and have heard very few signals.

I have never heard the one on 7086, seems only thing I hear lately is pactor every where...

Anyone know what stations are using the 7086..I dont...

Yes on 30 meters  there is a bbs stn on in NC. I believe, around 10.143, I have connected but go no where other than that....

Example stations I hear regularly on 7086.50 include:

WA5ETK
W5EBS
N5LUL
KQ0I
KC0FGJ

Via WA5ETK (AMAETK, Amarillo) and ? (forgot call) (node alias ODESSA), you can also hop into a VHF network: http://almostangels.org/PCG/

I wonder if you have connected to any station in that group, I gave it a few tries but conditions were not that way.
I have tried  network 105 but nothing from this end, probably wrong time of the day.

I am using multipsk or MIXW for packet and Pactor<Multipsk> which I have made a few contacts on.

I monitored 105 this afternoon, heard some activity. I had to re-compile my hf packet program and wasnt able to decode any packets. Propagation might not be going your way. Steve kd5mkv

I did monitor  the 40 meter 7086.5  and did see gene  w5....call  tried to connect but believe band changed. Then I saw kr0l-7 and connected with him  .
Then I departed came back this evening but 40 was stretched out to Europe and Africa..think sun spots are coming back.

Progress...... Grin

Hi K8LEN,

I looked at my logs and my station monitored the traffic from you.  For some reason, I don't have a log of your connect to me, but I do see a connect to KQ0I-7.  Anyway glad you've got progress!

Hi Guys.. Yes we are still here on 40 7.1035 LSB 30 10.146.67 LSB  and 20 14.09786 LSB meters  DIAL Tones 1600/1800.. I am presently working on an updated rosters.. Will try to have published soon. They do need updating for sure.

The Hardsnewsletter is still around i just ahve not had time to put one together.. As soon as I can I will be spitting out another edition..

I have ports on all our active Skipnets but one the one out West Net 7.101 LSB The Net Manager is Matt N6MAT Newbury Park CA,

I also do Winmor and Pactor BBS forwarding on many of the HF bands.. Capable from 80 thru 10 meters.

All stations are welcome to join... In fact we coudl use many more in Indiana and Nationally as well. With the upper bands starting to come alive we could use net managers for nets on 18 17 15 and 10 Meters...

Many thanks Jerry N9LYA
Skipnet Coordinator..

These HF BBS are OK to connect into but not knowing anyone seems  like a waste to connect.
Network 105 is busy but the same.
I cannot  connect to the locals such as N9LYA and WB9FHP being living to close and jumping over them<I believe>, on propagation.  I can connect off/on to WB9FHP on 80 meters .

40 meters no....
VHF Packet picking up in the area thanks to the persistance of Jerry N9LYA Grin.

At the present no others interested across the border<Louisville, KY>, would be nice though...
MERRY XMAS to all

The frequencies for the keyboarders are 7.086.565 and 14.105.000 both USB.

I've lost track of the frequencies for the guys doing bulletin forwarding.
